About the Program
How it started...
In October of 2022, the Chisago Lakes Good Neighbors Club received an amazingly generous grant of $6000 from the Chisago Lakes Area Community Foundation for our proposed Adopt-A-Grandparent program.
In 2024, the Adopt a Grandparent Team rebranded the program to "Adopt a Senior".
Our Goal
Personal relationships are critical to the mental health and physical well-being, potentially impacting a person's quality of life.
Our Adopt a Senior program builds relationships for seniors in the Chisago Lakes Area by creating positive, long-lasting friendships. The program aims to address the growing issues challenging today’s seniors such as isolation, lack of hands-on help, and the loss of community connectivity.
How can you help?
The Chisago Lakes Good Neighbors Club is seeking volunteers interested in becoming part of this program. Whether you want to volunteer, know a local senior that would be a good fit, or you yourself are interested in becoming an adopted senior, we would love for you to join us today!
